With harvest winding down, farmers are gearing up to start Anhydrous Application. In this blog post I want to remind you of some safety tips when handling Anhydrous and to share the capabilities of John Deere's 2510H High-Speed Applicator.
When you constantly work around Anhydrous sometimes we forget how caustic and dangerous it can be. The first safety tip is to always wear the right gloves, goggles, and other clothing such as long sleeves, pants, and a good pair of work boots. Next, be sure to have a full clean tank of water! When we have colder nights be sure to drain and refill the containers in the morning. Finally, rehearse what you would do in case of an emergency. Have yourself, employees, and whoever else helping with Anhydrous go through a dry run of what you would do in case of an Anhydrous accident.
John Deere has extended the capabilities of the proven 2510H High-Speed Applicator by adding dry nutrient application in addition to NH3. With this new proven product, producers will be able to boost their yield, save time, and cut costs in their nutrient application plans. The 2510H with dry application can apply the three primary nutrients at the right time to feed the crops when they need the nutrient the most. This new machine adheres to the right source, applied at the right time and where the crop needs the nutrients the most. The 2510H Dry Nutrient Applicator provides operators with a three season machine; for fall, pre-plant, and side dress application. The integrated solution team will help growers select the correct rate, coverage, and accuracy when setting up the applicator.
